Ken L Jones
In as little as 6 years, Ken L Jones has established himself as a cutting edge DJ with a promising future. Primarily known for his work in club environments, KLJ continues to push the boundaries by creating musically engaging experiences for his listeners. Having worked with the likes of recording artists, fashion designers, schools, government, etc., Ken L Jones looks to spread good music amongst the masses.

As a Toronto native with West African roots, KLJ has been exposed to many genres of music. From Hip Hop to smooth Jazz, he has kept an open mind, where others stay one-track minded musically. This has given him the label of an open-format DJ, something that he strives to maintain. As a 90′s baby, KLJ has been passionate to learn more about the music that came before his time. This allows him to be versatile in his selection of music, and opens new doors for creativity.

Ken L Jones’ creative approach to DJing landed him a spot in the 2013 RedBull Thre3Style competition, which takes place annually around the globe. His experience competing against other DJs in the Ottawa, Ontario qualifier was invaluable, and has tailored his approach in delivering finely crafted sets.

With an ear for good music and an easy-going demeanor, expect to have a good time when KLJ is behind the turntables. Mix in a serious love for music plus a dedication to perfect the craft, and you’ll see why Ken L Jones never ceases to amaze.

DJ Mace
The vibe and energy at a DJ Mace party is second to none, you can feel the intensity and passion he has for music as he switches from song to song. R&B, HIP HOP, OLD SCHOOL, RARE GROOVES, HOUSE, REGGAE, SOCA & more….DJ Mace plays it all!

Trevor Mason (AKA DJ Mace) was born in Toronto and moved to Kingston at a young age. By the age of 12, he and a close friend started taking up the art of DJing and by the age of 15, inspired by the music scene that he grew up with in Toronto, DJ Mace brought that fresh new movement to major establishments in Kingston. He was influenced by his older cousins who were DJs in Toronto and Queens NY, as well as his father who was a musician and key member of Grenada’s and Toronto’s Caribbean music scene.

Mace has been credited for playing alongside artists such as DJ Jazzy Jeff, DJ Premiere, Starting From Scratch, DJ Enuff, Pete Rock & CL Smooth, Digable Planets, Biz Markie, Tony Touch, Kid Capri, De La Soul, Red Alert, Beenie Man, Sean Paul, Snoop Dogg, Choclair, Karl Wolf, Kardinal Offishall,

Accessibility note:
Babylon Nightclub is an accessible venue. The washrooms are located on the main floor and are accessible as well (Not easy to navigate with motorized Wheelchair). There is a small lip (approximately 1” ) at the front entrance and we will have access to a ramp if needed.

The washrooms at this event will be gender neutral in recognition that so often gender variant, trans, two spirit and women identified people are at greater risk to violence and harassment. The QM hopes to create safer spaces for folks to be who they are and to enjoy their night free from violence and body policing. This includes making a commitment to providing gender-neutral washrooms.

Safer Space Policy:
QM collectively strives to create spaces that are free of as many barriers as possible as means to working towards liberation. This means that we are all responsible for creating the spaces we desire, by educating ourselves, each other and ensuring that we are continually engaging in these conversations and creating relationships of support and collective responsibility. While we recognize that no space is exclusively “safe” for anyone, we must collectively work towards mitigating harms. In response to certain experiences that have happened within our spaces, we have decided to remix ground rules to apply to a specific situation in which groups of people come together to make themselves vulnerable:http://thequeermafia.com/events/safer-spaces-policy/

QM works towards recognizing dynamics of power and privilege that exist within society and which have historically oppressed our communities. We believe that these same dynamics and tensions exist within our own communities and we are working continuously towards addressing these tensions and creating supportive spaces. People participating in our events and dance parties are asked to be aware of their language and behavior and to think about whether these may be harming others. Our spaces are not spaces for explicit or implicit violence, racism, sexism, ageism, transphobia, cissexism, sizeism, fatphobia, sexual harassment, and gender policing, or doing anything to another person without their consent. Acting in a way that disrespects, harms others or undermines these values will not be tolerated. QM reserves the right to assess & manage circumstances and situations in the best interest of our collective vision towards creating ‘liberation’ and ‘safer’ spaces.
